A Prayer

The balance in the ecosystem
Was hampered by man’s deeds
The earth tried to tell us
‘To a disaster, this leads’

From centuries its happenings
Pandemics are trying to teach
For us Homo sapiens here
Learning seems out of reach

A minuscule virus stepped in!
To handle it we dint know!
“Karma bites” nature’s saying;
“You reap what you sow”!

To the universe I bow
With prayer on my mind
“Fill us all with healing power
You are our hope, please be kind”

“Fill us with peace, fill us with love
Forgive us for causing you pain
Hold us Mother Earth in your embrace
Give us a chance to nurture you again!”

Wah Taj!

Image credit; Sanin Sn @ Unsplash

An ad on the TV said.. “Wah! Ustaad Wah! …. arey huzoor Wah Taj boliye”.

How many recollect the Taj Mahal tea advertisement from the 90s in India. Ustaad Zakir Hussain ji creating majic with his Tabla, in front of this monument, after sipping Taj Mahal tea! From those days, it was my dream to see it one day!

A trip here a few years ago, left me in awe. The Taj Mahal beaming in all its glory with the morning sun rays made it a picturesque view.

The white marble beauty adorned with rubies, sapphires, emeralds, pearls made me wonder…. how expensive is Shah Jahan’s memoire for his beloved 😃.

How deep must be the love for his wife

To build a symbol of love after her life

A memoir for her in the place she lies..

Was it to prove true love never dies?

Shining like a Pearl with the blue sky in the backdrop

The mausoleum makes the travellers jaw drop

To describe its beauty in the best possible way

Wah Taj” was all that I could say 😊

A tiny marvel

I’m a tiny little marvel, living in a pond carefree

I’m not alone, I have many around just like me

In this mighty nature I may seem insignificant

About myself I’m proud and I feel magnificent

People stare, and stop to have a second look

Smitten by my beauty, photographs they took!

I’m loved by all, old n young, boy or girl

Sparkling in the sun beam, I shine like a Pearl

I’ve stood by the high winds that swept across me

I’ve taken pains when frogs kept their feet on me

Carrying nature’s hues, I’m a treat to the eye

That one kiss from the leaf gets my spirits high

When you look around for marvels, you find it everywhere

Be the foliage of waterlily or in me, a water drop around there.

Live the moment

Any time any day, It’s ok to just smile

We pass on vibes to a stranger passing by!

Express feelings freely, happy or sad

Stop worrying if other’s gonna feel bad!

Be silly, have fun, sing along a few rhymes

We take this life too seriously at times!

See the magic in simple things of nature around,

Enjoy it all! The sight, touch, smell and sound!

Life takes over us with every year gone by

Remember to not let the child in the heart, die..

This is something I’m telling to myself today! I wish I can smile more tomorrow. 😊

Ideal day

In response to Sadje’s What do you see prompt.

I see a 70 year old me

Sitting on a rocking chair

Hot cup of coffee in hand

90’s Bollywood music playing on the radio

Better half busy cooking our breakfast,

Flowers, sweets, cakes and scented candles

Sent by my daughters, to celebrate the day I was born

To celebrate Me 😊

The prompt pic just painted the above picture in my mind. If I live upto 70, this would be just ideal.

Un-Happy Panda?

I can see it in black and white

You used up bamboos from my site

Do you think you did this right?

I don’t have food, you get my plight?

You made baskets from them I see

They are beautiful, I do agree

You took them without paying me a fee

You gonna give them away too, for free?

I see a few eggs here, neatly kept

Wanna help you, hope you accept.

I know a wise old man, had once said

Do not keep all your eggs in one basket!

It was a quick write up on a light note! It looked like the panda was moving something from one basket to the other. So, came up with this. Thanks for reading, I love feedback 😊

Guiding light

In response to Sadje’s What do you see prompt

Don’t come with me through the dark’ you said
‘Stand here, and be my guiding light instead’
What is taking you so long?
Come back fast do not prolong
This fire is grilling up my bald head

A/N: At first I thought the guy is in a dungeon, finding his way out and so, some lines popped up in my head as to how adventurous his journey would be through the dark paths.

Seeing the starry skies above and no paths seen on either sides, I wondered what is this guy upto? Why is he holding a torch standing there? May be his girlfriend went to the woods for an ‘emergency’ call? and hence i came up with this Limerick 😉. Syllable count 9/9/7/7/9

Bottom line is, I have nothing new to write 😐

I possess
I’m proud of it
Each one holds deep secrets
Life’s all challenges faced with wit
They are my souvenirs I must admit
I have earned my inner peace; With hope, my eye shines
Smiling away amidst worst of storms hit
Moved on, Kept walking, did not sit
Making way through life’s mess
Tired, almost quit
I confess
At stress

It is time!

Image credit; Adrien King @ Unsplash

I can see it, it is time

Time for me to go

Go leaving this life

Life here for me, is done, so!

Don’t try to stop me now

Now I see my death

Death holding me tight

Tight enough to stop my breath

Don’t call the emergency, please!

Please don’t prolong my pain

Pain in this life, I’m done with

With each other we’ll meet again

Though I will be gone

Gone to another place

Place me in your heart forever

Forever you will feel my embrace

One thing is left undone

Undone, untold and I regret

Regret that I dint convey my love

Love I have for them, remains unsaid!

Faking it

In response to Sadje’s What do you see prompt. Thanks for hosting it, Sadje!

Sun shining right on the eye

“Light, camera! one two three!”

Perfect!” smirked the photographer;

“Tears looked good on thee!”

He then put on his shades

and gave that perfect pose again!

A seasoned model by profession

He knew ways to hide his pain!

He knew to fake a smile

He knew to cover the mark

He faked himself to the world

Deep within he was all dark!
