She made time once a week, to look after the plants. She couldn’t let her granny’s happy place dry away.

In response to Bulbul’s Twt prompt: Garden

Actually gardening was not my hobby. I loved plants but i dint have place for it in my mom’s house. After I got married, and moved here, I started taking care of the garden. It has plants and trees cared for by my husband’s grand mother. There’s a mango tree and a spatika plant which is decades old. It’s the third or fourth generation of this plant in our garden. There’s some connection with the granny and I couldn’t let them dry. I’m weird, eh? 😅

    1. Oh yesss… very few, about 10 to 15 per season .. but each mango is about 1/2kg .. huge ones. I pickle them. 😅
We are trying to retain the tree in the demolition work … hopefully we can. Neighbors are not for it 😒

      Thaaaank you dear one ❤️🥰

  1. You’re not weird, you’re just a beautiful soul who’s taking care of something of someone you feel a strong connection with. If this is weird, then I adore your weirdness! ♥♥

      1. Thanks very much for the info and picture, HS. 🙂 If I’m not wrong I think this flower is also colloquially called as December flower in Tamilnadu. 🙂

  2. Oh my God! I can totally relate to this. My granny planted a mango sapling which turned into a huge tree. We even had a tree house on that. The tree was our friend in literal terms. Three years ago, it toppled because of a storm. It was horrific. My whole family was in tears because it meant so much to us. we had so many memories linked with it. Even the house felt empty without its presence. I love how deeply we can connect to flora and fauna with such genuineness. ❤
