In response to What do you see prompt by Sadje. Thanks for hosting this dear Sadje . π

Itβs almost four decades old
The story of this letter was never told
You were in the north in the freezing cold
Wrote it for me, about the love you hold
So that I read it well, you wrote in bold
To be your better half, you cajoled
I felt the same, my heart was consoled
In your warm hug I wanted to enfold
I loved you always, was not very bold
This love, remained within, untold
Layers of my fondness began to unfold
Happiness and tears gushed uncontrolled
I miss you now, in the paths we strolled
You left for a better place, my life slowed!
Time flew by, this envelope is 40 years old
Looking at it, memories of that day paroled.
I hope you liked it. Thanks for reading π
So simple yet charmingπ€©

Extremely touching postπ
I can understand your husband must have written it to you, how each and every emotion is clearly witnessed in this post.
How it’s said it was written in bold for your clarity, and how he wrote it when he was in North and it was cold, and the lines which said “I loved you always but was never bold” Wow, seriously Wowππ
You must have relived the time nah, while writing it all, how all emotions must have gathered to help you frame a beautiful poem like this.
Your rhyming skills are nailing it really β¨β¨

Thaaank you dear Rashmiii…
Ha ha .. yes it is highly influenced by the letter he had written to me .. but wanted to add a bit of poignancy in the last paragraph and not make it personal somehow π
He wrote a line or two in capitals you know, because he has a bad handwriting πHe had ended with a line saying .. though my handwriting is bad, I know youβll be able to read it , as youβll read it from the heart ππ¬β
I opened up that letter and read it again yesterday… just felt like it … felt like reading a letter written when love was at its peak 18 years ago! π
Thanks so much for appreciating my rhyming skills my dear rhyming queen … a clap from you means a lot to me π

I enjoyed the poem plus the rhyming continuity. I think I’ve done for just one poem, sometime last year and it was quite an effort, and I appreciate this effort of yours very much, HS. Kudos!

Thanks a lot for the compliment, HS. When it comes to rhyming sequence after 2 lines, I start looking around for ideas, not that other forms come easily, but I enjoy. π
