Guiding light

In response to Sadje’s What do you see prompt

‘Don’t come with me through the dark’ you said
‘Stand here, and be my guiding light instead’
What is taking you so long?
Come back fast do not prolong
This fire is grilling up my bald head

A/N: At first I thought the guy is in a dungeon, finding his way out and so, some lines popped up in my head as to how adventurous his journey would be through the dark paths.

Seeing the starry skies above and no paths seen on either sides, I wondered what is this guy upto? Why is he holding a torch standing there? May be his girlfriend went to the woods for an ‘emergency’ call? and hence i came up with this Limerick 😉. Syllable count 9/9/7/7/9

Bottom line is, I have nothing new to write 😐
