Been to the Himalayas?
A place so mystical
Was bewitched by its beauty
It’s aura so magical!
The mountains touching heavens
Topped by snow capped peaks
Calms and soothes the soul
Only the silence speaks!
Words can’t describe it’s beauty
It’s an experience in itself
Lessens ones ego n pride
One seeks to find self!
Will it’s beauty last,
For the next generations to see?
Or will it just be in pictures to say
This is how once, it used to be!

Global warming is a climate emergency!
In response to Shweta’s Six Word Story prompt: Emergency. Thanks for hosting Shweta.
A/N: I have been to the Himalayas a couple of times and when my kids are big enough to manage themselves, I want to go there as many times as I can. They are addictively beautiful. Leaves one in a trance!!!
On the way to Badrinath temple, all I could think of was, ‘we are but a tiny speck in front of nature’.
The effect of climate change on these mountains is alarming. A study says that if CO2 emission is not controlled, two thirds of its ice fields could disappear in about 25 years. 😦

I can so relate to this beautiful poem HS. I had been to Badrinath a few years back and I still revel in the gorgeous sights that unfolded before me. It was a delight for the eyes and the soul as well.

Oh you should! There is something very magical about the mountains. They are so beautiful.
I have fear of heights too.. the roads to Badrinath are so narrow that one wheel of the minibus always seems to hang in the air traversing through the peaks and my seat was right on top of that wheel. Gosh!! It’s an unforgettable experience. One mistake would take us all down deep to the Alaknanda river! 😁
And this post came up with the help of my journal, Aswathy😉

Definitely someday! Sounds adventurous and fascinating!
I am afraid of heights too 😅 The closest I have been on a mountain pass was in Wayanad, the route which connects to Mysore and Banglore. That itself was terrifying for me 😀
Is it? 🙃 You must have traversed through some old memories there, I guess 🙂

As usual great work RU. We passed the stage where we could reserve global warming. What max we can do is to sustain what we have at present and preserve it for future.

Beautiful piece, HS! The mountains are beautiful. And wherever they are to see that beauty threatened is heartbreaking. We live an hour away from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the US and visit there every chance we get. I love their magic and serenity and feel we must do everything we can to sustain the beauty of our planet. Thank you so much for joining in.

Thank you very much, Eugi! Just googled the Blue ridge, they are so beautiful!!
Indeed, sometimes I feel what can one or two people do! But if each one does a small bit, hopefully it’s something significant.
Thanks for hosting, it’s my pleasure joining in. 😇

I never went to Himalayas, but your words shown its beauty. We humans don’t know the worth of nature and it’s blessings to us.
