The nth minute

A mammoth task stands unfinished

The time is now, either I do or die

The fault is all mine, I lacked foresight

This fact, to myself atleast, I cannot lie

Putting it off every single day,

No prioritisation, No planning

Pushed it till the eleventh hour

My asinine reasons are unforgiving

Accepting the state of the present

Facing fears, taking challenge head on

My brain, is at its creative best

Ideas spewing up like popcorn!!

In response to Reena’s Exploration challenge, Sammi’s Weekend writing prompt: asinine and Eugi’s weekly prompt: foresight. Thanks for hosting these challenges:-)

This took me back to Engineering days. We had eight semesters to complete. The final semester had only one subject in curriculum and we had to do one project too. After slogging through the seven sems, we felt very light at the eighth. “This is the last semester we friends can be together and hang out”, “we will no longer be students”, “if not now when can we enjoy”, “after all its one subject and one project” “when we graduate and get a job, our life will never be the same, we cannot enjoy like this” “lets live the student days to fullest before we get into the rat race”…. many more similar thoughts float around.

In the last week, we four project mates realized the gravity of the mess we are in. If not for one of our friend, who helped us, we wouldn’t have completed the project at all. Its amazing how our brain comes up with creative ideas when there is a crunch of time. Each one of us got a better idea than the other and we saw the project through. We got the report printed at 11 in the night!! Gosh! That was one hell of a week!! The video in Reena’s challenge brought back all those memories.. Ah! Those days! Miss them now 🙂 And in exams too, what we study in the nth minute gets registered so wonderfully in our brains, isnt it? 🙂
