The day in fantasy park, was getting better by the minute. A glass house, filled with butterflies, if only she could seize the moment, capture it.

A butterfly fluttered around and sat seeking comfort on her hand. What a beauty, what a mix of colours, only so much joy, her heart could withstand.

A walk through mini forest, colourful birds stole her heart. Absorbing all the marvel, she was spellbound with natureโ€™s art.

She was on the path to the water park, it was so creatively designed. Jets of water made an arch through the walkway, so beautifully aligned

The burble was rhythmic, sounded like foot tapping music to her ears. The dancer in her evoked, She had not danced for many years.

She struck the wet floor, barefoot, for a tap dance, throwing her wedges in the air

She danced without care,
as if it was her last chance!
Fall; Ligament tear.

In response to Sadjeโ€™s What do you see prompt. Thanks for hosting it Sadje.

Ligament tear was a sad ending for this beautiful pic. But seeing this pic, it reminded me of my fall during a dance performance. I have had ligament tears over n over but I continued to participate in folk dance competitions in school and college. Even recently, 3 years ago, I took to aerobic classes for workouts and I fell again in of the classes and hurt my ankle ligament. That was my last! Have been given a warning by the Ortho, that the ligament canโ€™t take it anymore. No more dance, no more aerobics. And so, this is what I could come up with seeing the pic ๐Ÿ˜Š

I tried a Haibun, seeing a recent post from Radhika @Radhikaโ€™s Reflections. Itโ€™s a combination of prose (or a prose poem) and a Haiku. Haiku should be in connect with the prose and should add meaning to the write up. Hope this post meets the rules of Haibun, please do let me know if I have missed any.

Thanks for reading๐Ÿ˜Š Feedback most welcome

  1. The moment I read ligament tear, It reminded me the one I got a few years back, it was so painful ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…, and I was in hostel, and also, can’t go back home due classes and postings, which further added it up.

Great take on the prompt ๐Ÿ˜Š
    Take care!

  2. Oh, that was a sad ending to an otherwise great day. But that’s life for you! Lligament tears are bad. I know many friends who had to discontinue dancing because of ligament tears. Sorry to hear about yours too. Such a heartfelt post, HS. Great take on the prompt.

  3. Ah… beautiful HS.
We were going for a potluck dinner party few years back, and I tripped and fell on the road, my dish all over the place. I sat through the party in one corner with my leg hoisted on a stool and people fussing over me. Oh god, it was so embarrassing ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ. Next day my leg was in a cast. Some phases are tough .
Thanks for the mention HS. โ™ฅ๏ธ

  4. How beautiful is that Smiley. I just loved your poem. I am sure you must have written considering yourself as the protagonist or seen your own self in the picture that the poem came out so beautiful!
It’s so care free and easy!

And I loved the way you shared your own experience to us.
I haven’t heard about ligament tear ever, but I can understand it must be painful but more than that the pain of not being able to dance again would create more problem for I know how much you love dance.

You described the prompt really well! Keep up the good work ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks for quoting this.. I read it again and now Iโ€™m wondering … it should be โ€œfellโ€ right? or โ€œfallโ€ ? … fell ligament tore? ๐Ÿง๐Ÿง๐Ÿง my thought was, a fall led to ligament tear .. what you think? โ˜บ๏ธ
